Bí Urban, a social enterprise, in partnership with the Local Authorities Water Program (LAWPRO) piloted urban rainwater planter boxes into the yards of residential properties and public buildings. The planter boxes intercept rainwater from impervious rooftop surfaces that would otherwise flow into the combined sewer system.
The planters are installed in the Stoneybatter neighborhood within the city center of Dublin. Rainwater from roofs will be captured and diverted to appropriately sized rainwater planter boxes, thus reducing stormwater flow into the combined sewer system. This will reduce the chances of combined sewer overflows and localized flooding.

Operation 0 to 100! Eastern Ireland Stewardship Plan
The Rivers Trust proposes a road map to replenish 100 million gallons of water per year by 2026, focusing on the greater Dublin and eastern seaboard areas. By partnering with local organizations, the initiative aims to build capacity for water stewardship, foster collaboration between industries and landowners, and ensure sustainable water use through replenishment projects. The Rivers Trust’s Water Stewardship Service will provide businesses with access to local expertise and help drive action on water stewardship in Ireland, ensuring a balance between environmental impact and business needs.
