Fundación Naturaleza y Hombre (FNYH) is expanding conservation efforts in the Sierra de Gata Biological Reserve by acquiring land to enhance biodiversity and reduce wildfire risks. This project will cover at least 50 hectares, including both the newly acquired land and areas within the existing reserve. The project will support watering and creating 5 ponds, and it will plan and manage a fire reduction program for the reserve. These efforts will help protect the region’s natural habitats while promoting long-term environmental sustainability.

Tajo River Basin Irrigation Efficiency
The Tajo River (also known as the Tagus River) is an important source of irrigation supply for agricultural crops. However, as climate change occurs and the demand for water grows there are impacts on water availability. The collection of improved data will help inform how irrigation occurs and provide an opportunity to reduce irrigation withdrawals.
In partnership with Agrow Analytics, this project will support farmers reduce water use by providing smart irrigation recommendations based on precise data. Their AI technology analyzes factors like weather, soil type, crop water needs, and sensor data to create efficient irrigation schedules, ensuring crops get the right amount of water at the right time.
