Verde River Habitat Restoration
The Verde River is a major tributary of the Salt River. It is about 170 miles and is one of the largest perennial streams in Arizona.
Friends of the Verde River and their partners seek to restore Parson’s Preserve to Beasley Flat, a section of the river along the Camp Verde reach. The project will remove invasive species (Tamarisk, Giant reed, Tree of heaven, and Russian olive).
The removal of invasive species will help to restore and protect native plants along the river, enhance habitat for fish and wildlife, and reduce the risk of wildfires.
