Bear River Wetlands and Appledale Slough Ag Water Efficiency and Wetland Enhancement

Situated in the floodplain of the lower Bear River Idaho, the Bear River Wetlands are a diverse landscape of emergent and submerged aquatic bed wetlands, riparian areas and riverine habitats. Ducks Unlimited and local partners will improve efficiency of water distribution and water level management within wetland habitats and increase diversity of water depths and associated vegetation communities. Additionally, Ducks Unlimited and project partners will support 175 acres of existing wetlands and 160 acres of cropland in the Appledale Slough wetland. The projects will impact a combined 785 acres as well as protect critical habitat for waterfowl and other wetland-dependent species.
